Play with clay hand-building Courses and classes

We will need a minimum of 5 people to run the courses, so grab your friends, your drinks, and nibbles,  call us now for a booking.

 One-Off introduction class : play with clay – $89

These run Every Friday 10.30am 

We can’t wait for you to try this hand-building session, relax bring in your favorite drink and nibbles, and let’s start to create.  In this one-off 3 hour session with the guidance of our tutor, you will learn how to pinch, coil or slab with clay to create anything from a bowl, mug, or planter pot from a  lump of clay. We will guide you with the basics of hand-building with clay. All our clay is white clay earthenware, all materials and tools needed will be provided for you in the session, and all firing and clear glaze is included. 

Your piece will be fully functional and yes it can go into the dishwasher and microwave after you pick it up from the studio 3-4 weeks after the completion of your class session. You are welcome to bring drinks and nibbles to your session.

 All these sessions run on Fridays at 10.30 am

This 2 class session is perfect for those wanting to give hand-building a try, then return the following week to paint their Ceramic Art piece with Ceramic Underglazes in the second session, where you will learn to clean and trim your creation before designing and painting.

We will guide you through basic techniques in pottery with pinch pots to creating a bowl, mug or planter, a spoon, or a small jug in a 3-hour session with all tools and materials and Underglaze paints needed. Leave your creations with us and we will fire and clear-glaze your piece. In 3-4 weeks your creations can be picked up from the studio.

We can guide you through some painting and brush techniques to make your creations amazing and unique.

Suitable for all ages from 10 years and over.

Children must be accompanied by a paying adult in the same session.

This session is suitable for anyone who wants to dabble and play with clay and then design with paints.

This is a wonderful play-with-clay Beginners course for those who want a little more than just one piece.

You will be guided for 3 hours a week, for 6 continuous weeks in stepped instructions creating 4 to 5  different pieces, using 3 different techniques for each week.

Week 1 to 5 and 6 you will be decorating and firing all your pieces.

This course incorporates creating your functional and decorative pieces, then Ceramic Art Painting and Brush and Bubble Techniques with Underglaze used to paint your creations. Leave them with us and we will fire your creations.

You will get to choose what glaze you would like for your creations all  included in the cost.

The course includes clay, tools, firings, Underglazes, Some specialty glazes, and clear glazes in 6 tutor-guided lessons step by step.
